Job Description
The Corporate Security Technology Manager is responsible for providing effective leadership in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of GM Financial's physical security systems architecture and for leading Corporate Security technology projects enterprise-wide. This position is also responsible for research and development related to security system technology to identify opportunities to improve the program's overall effectiveness. This position will manage a technical security team and will serve as the liaison to ITS, Facilities and other stakeholder departments on all physical security system projects. This position will oversee all contractor and vendor activities associated with security system projects.JOB DUTIES:Provide subject matter expertise, advice and solutions that mitigate physical security risksInfluence and gain support for security initiatives that will yield significant positive business impactOversee the installation, modification, and decommissioning of all security equipment within the GMF footprint Draft, manage and maintain GMF's security technology standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards and alignment with business needsDevelop productive relationships with industry peers to engage in benchmarking opportunities/exercises to understand changes in the industryAddress issues associated with security technology and technology design across the company Effectively drive interaction with internal and external clients to determine causes and identify solutions to security system issuesDesign, develop, and execute tests to assess compliance with security-related policies, procedures and applicable laws and regulations Manage and develop a security technology team and provide first-line oversight of security system and security equipment vendor relationships Attend meetings, conferences and workshops related to security technology to remain abreast of industry standards Perform other duties and / or conduct special projects, as directed.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:Reports to: AVP Security Strategy and ProgramsDirect Reports: Physical Security Systems Program Manager, Physical Security System AdministratorsKnowledgeAdvanced-level knowledge of contemporary security system applications, including CPAM, ICPAM, VSOM, and Lenel.Advanced knowledge of physical security best practicesStrong ability to identify problems in real-time and drive strategic approaches to solutionsSolid ability to read architectural drawings, blueprints and schematics; strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative circuit analysisStrong ability to manage full-cycle project coordination of access control, intrusion alarm, video surveillance and fire alarm systems.Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted security practices, standards, principles and techniques used in technology-based security systemsDemonstrated knowledge of access control badging systemsKnowledge of locking systems and related hardware / software componentsSkillsStrong leadership ability to effectively develop and monitor a team's performanceMust be a self-starter and finisher able to manage the Corporate Security Technology functions with minimal supervisionStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with and influence staff at all levels.Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds and at varying levels within the corporate structure.Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and respond rapidly to emerging eventsAbility to maintain and promote the highest ethical standards and conductAbility to use logic and reasoning to identify complex problems and evaluate related information to develop options to drive solutions.Ability to effectively monitor and assess organizational performanceAbility to motivate, develop, and direct people as they workAbility to manage and coordinate multiple complex technical issuesExcellent planning, organizational and project management skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to function as an effective team memberStrong computer skills in word processing, database management and system administrationAbility to develop a strategic approach to security system design, implementation and maintenanceExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.6 years increasingly responsible experience in security or risk assessment in a military or corporate environment 3 years of experience with integrated physical security system design and maintenance3 years supervisory experience in security, investigations, asset protection or law enforcement required3 years of experience in a multi-site geographically dispersed organization2 years of experience in physical security consulting, including threat management or risk management in a corporate environment preferred1 year of experience in physical security in a financial services environment preferredProfessional board certification in a relevant security discipline preferred WORK CONDITIONSOffice environment that requires periodically being on call or working extended periods to support Corporate Security system operations.Travel - Up to 25%
