OverviewGuides and directs staff of the assigned shift on a daily basis.Supervises all Security personnel and oversees security operationto include in-park, perimeter and investigation areas and communications and access control.Protects property against theft,vandalism and fire and enforces park policies and state laws when applicable.QualificationsAbility to undergo training and pass examinations as requiredAbility to demonstrate positive public relations skillsA working knowledge of computer operation to include word and excel.Meet South Carolina Law Enforcement Division security officer requirements.Possess a current and valid driver's license and submit it upon request.Ability to complete training for the American Heart Association Infant, Child and Adult CPR certification.Approved black shoes, black belt, black socks, pocket notebook.Good verbal and written skills.Reliable transportation.Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.ResponsibilitiesProvides high visibility patrols of buildings and grounds of the park to provide reasonable protection of the park's property,assets, guests, and associatesMonitors, enforces, and correctly reports violations of park rules and applicable state lawsAssesses, resolves, and contains situations; takes appropriate action steps based upon policies and trainingGives verbal directions and assists guests and associates, including lost and/or separated guestsCommunicates using a two- way radio and telephoneCalls for assistance and responds to emergency situationsMoves items or objects; moves or drags persons in an emergencyMonitors and prevents unauthorized entry into park or restricted areasObserves and checks departing personnel and vehicles to guard against property lossPerforms walk-throughs and hand held detection functions to help prevent weapons or prohibited items from entering the parkWrites legible, timely, concise, and accurate statements or reports for incidents and investigationsTestifies in court or at a hearing as neededAssists with traffic direction and control in the parking lotOperates a company vehicle in accordance with park and department policiesMaintains and supervises all scheduling and daily staffing levelsProvides optimal communications within the department, between departments, and in emergency situationsAssists with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of security associatesSupervises, develops, coaches, counsels, evaluates, and maintains documentation on security associatesEnsures completion of all department paperworkMaintains a working knowledge of the park and security departments daily operationTakes a proactive stance in regards to prevention of safety and security incidentsResponds to and assists with security associates in handling incidentsKeeps management informed of all situations, complaints, and incidentsAssists with security planning and supervision on special eventsTrain, direct, schedule evaluate, compliment and discipline staff with appropriate documentation.Provide team with necessary information and tools to effectively perform their duties.Respond to and take appropriate action to resolve concerns and complaints from park guests and associates.Communicate clearly and effectively in speaking, writing and listening to management, associates, guests and other departments.Monitor and pursue the appropriate action to ensure operation remains within budgetary guidelines.Maneuverability and mobility to patrol the buildings and grounds.Examine doors, windows and gates to determine that they are secure and answer calls to secure and un-secure the same.Staff various appointed posts to monitor authorized/un-authorized entrance onto property (i.e.perimeter and Paladium posts, gates and fences).Take appropriate action as directed by the Security Management on those persons in violation of park policies and/or applicable state laws.Detect and report safety and/or security irregularities (i.e.leaking water pipes, fire hazards, etc) in a timely manner.Provide for security escorts for guests and associates.Quickly and safely respond to a designated location in the event of an emergency situation to contact unruly guests or associates within property boundaries.Provide verbal and or written directions or information to guests and associates.Direct and regulate vehicle and pedestrain tarffic in parking lots and on perimeter mobile patrols.Escort lost guests to designated meeting location and follow established department procedures to search for lost guests.Maintain a daily log of security activities and complete detailed reports on incidents occurring on the property before the end of scheduled shifts.Provide for and assist in crowd control in all areas of the property.Provide limited mechanical assistance for guests in need of vehicle services (i.e.jump starts, water, etc).Operate emergency vehicles ( truck, first aid van, patrol vehicle) upon completion of specific vehicle training.Assist First Aid associates with various pieces of equipment when needed as well as manning the first aid station when requested.Operate a fire extinguisher and water pump on the fire truck upon completion of training.Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all issued security equipment and all vehicles and areas of patrol.Ensure all duties in locations are performed in a safe manner in accordance with established department guidelines.Complete administrative duties (i.e.approving time and attendance, schedules, labor reports, evaluations, shift reports and employee file documents) as required by department.Moves throughout entire area of responsibility regularly to maintain awareness of total operation.Ability to work well with other people.Good judgment.Assists with and coordinates surveillance cameras installed in the park.Ensures that surveillance equipment remains in operation and good working condition.Coordinates Auditing Staff in the park.Maintains clear, concise and specific lines of communication between management, associates and other depratmetns.Interviews associates and guests pertaining to cases of theft.Informs Security management before taking any seriuos action on various cases and ensures that all paperwork and documentation is thorough and complete.Reports directly to the Security Operations SupervisorMonitors CCTV cameras to control theft and other violations with proper documentation.Audits park locations to ensure the proper handling of money.Notifies supervisory staff when problems of operation of CCTV equipment are detected.Maneuverability and mobility to monitor theft and other problems.Provides assistance to outside law enforcement personnel.Assists in apprehension of offenders.Makes court appearances representing **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. in criminal prosecutions as required.Monitors Comporium Centra Scan System to control access into buildings and to monitor buildings for theft, burglary, hold-ups and fire prevention.Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.Other duties may be assigned.
