With only $500 of borrowed money and a lot of enthusiasm, Paul and Jane Skogen opened a 3,000 square foot store that was attached to their house in Onalaska, Wisconsin in 1946. Today, the family- and employee-owned company operates more than 20 full-service, state-of-the art supermarkets and employs more than 5,000 full and part-time associates. At Festival Foods, our customers are our guests. And although our story started years ago, we still operate with the same servant leadership philosophy and the same care for our guests as we did when there was just one store. With family at our core, our goal is to give each and every guest the personal attention and support we would expect for our own families. We go above and beyond to ensure our products and services meet our guests' high expectations. It all boils down to the "Boomerang Principle." Every business decision we make is based on the question, "Will it bring the guest back?"Yes, our job is to bring you quality products and an exceptional experience. But, we also strive to provide value and enrich the lives of our guests and neighbors above and beyond just groceries. When you step foot in your neighborhood Festival Foods, you'll be quick to note a few smiling faces or a genuine 'hello.' Just like our guests, Festival Foods' associates are not only experts, they're family. You'll often find them out and about in the community with events like the Festival Foods Turkey Trot and community fireworks. In our stores, they're around to help with product suggestions and insights and, of course, offer a helpful smile when you walk through the aisles of our stores. We select each associate based on his or her passion, knowledge and service to our guests.
